This chapter presents the procedure for installing version 6.0 of PMDF-MTA, PMDF-ACCESS, PMDF-DIRSYNC, PMDF-LAN, PMDF-MB400, PMDF-MSGSTORE, PMDF-POPSTORE, PMDF-X400, and PMDF-XGS on a Tru64 UNIX (Digital UNIX) system.
If you are installing any PMDF add-on layered product (except PMDF-TLS), e.g., PMDF-DIRSYNC, PMDF-LAN, PMDF-MB400, PMDF-X400, or PMDF-XGS, such product has been included with the base PMDF kit on your distribution media. PMDF-TLS is distributed separately; see Chapter 3 for a discussion of PMDF-TLS distribution. You will be asked during the installation procedure what optional subsets should be installed along with PMDF. Note that an add-on layered product cannot be installed alone; the base PMDF kit must be installed also (or have been previously installed). Although for each additional add-on layered product you will need an additional Product Authorization Key (PAK) in order to activate that layered product, you can install a layered product even if you do not currently have a PAK for it: however, you won't be able to use that layered product until you have registered and loaded the proper PAK.
