7.4 Before you begin

Prior to running the PMDF-ACCESS configuration utility you should have installed PMDF-ACCESS on your system.

Before running the PMDF-ACCESS configuration utility, determine the answers to these questions which the configuration utility will ask you.

The type of TCP/IP software you have, if you have TCP/IP.
The IP address of your system, if you have TCP/IP.
The TCP/IP name of the system running PMDF-MTA, if you have TCP/IP. Or the DECnet node name of the PMDF-MTA system if you have DECnet.
The official local host name you want to use for this system. Please refer to Section 5.1.2 for implications of the name selected.
