When using PMDF-MR, sometimes files with names of the form
$Mx$..., e.g.,
$MF$01H868YPNYBMAW31.00;1 $MB$01H798YCNYASAW41.00;1are found in the PMDF queue directory. These are temporary files created by Message Router and the DEC MRIF interface. You need to check the PMDF-MR log files, usually
mr_local_master.log or
mrif_*_master.log in the PMDF log directory, to see if
there is a problem with processing messages to or from Message Router.
There are also some pathological cases where Message Router leaves
files behind, but these are rare. If no errors are found in the log
files, these files can be deleted. You should monitor the queue
directory and see if they reappear.
