GENERAL INFO
-------------
You will need to have a License PAK with a release date after the date of
PMDFSHR.EXE or libpmdf.so to run PMDF. Note that this may apply to other
  images as well.

Patches may be obtained from the anonymous FTP account on
ftp.pmdf.process.com. Use FTP to connect to the host ftp.pmdf.process.com
and login as the user anonymous. Use your e-mail address as the login
  password.

     Move to the pmdf_621_patches subdirectory:

        ftp> cd pmdf_621_patches

Patches will be located in platform-specific sub-trees, as follows:

        Platform Subdirectory
        -------- ------------
        OpenVMS vms
        Solaris/SPARC solaris-sparc
        Solaris/x86 solaris-x86
        Tru64 osf
	common unix	unix

When FTPing images, be sure to FTP them as binary. Before retrieving
such an image with the GET command, be sure to put your FTP into binary
mode with a command such as TYPE IMAGE or TYPE BINARY.

Change history
---------------
11-JUL-2005
Fixed a problem with the legacy POP server where it would incorrectly tell
the POP client that there were 0 messages in the folder when it got an error
opening the folder. This would cause the client to re-download all messages
in the folder once it was able to open it. The behavior has been changed to
return an error message instead. (D/E 10029) [OpenVMS only]

Installation
------------

OpenVMS [VAX] [ALPHA]

Copy the image to the PMDF_EXE: directory. Ensure it has the same
ownership & security/access as the previous version. Replace the
installed image and restart the server:

$ INSTALL REPLACE PMDF_EXE:POP3D ! on all cluster nodes with PMDF
        $ PMDF RESTART/CLUSTER POP3
