Prior to running the PMDF Service Dispatcher configuration utility you must have installed PMDF-MTA or PMDF-ACCESS on your system, and it is recommended that you also configure PMDF itself before configuring the PMDF Service Dispatcher. Refer to Chapters 1 through 8 if you have not already installed and configured PMDF-MTA or PMDF-ACCESS.
The PMDF Service Dispatcher configuration utility will prompt for several pieces of required information; it attempts to provide reasonable default values for its questions. In particular, you will be asked what port number to run the PMDF HTTP server (used for serving out PMDF documentation, forms, and services); the default answer of port 7633 is generally appropriate, but you may select a different port number if you prefer.
